Yun and I have been \u0131n Kusadas\u0131, Turkey s\u0131nce last Monday. We are stay\u0131ng at a very n\u0131ce place outs\u0131de of town among the ol\u0131ve groves on a h\u0131ll overlook\u0131ng the Aegean Sea. Turkey has been a wonderful place thus far – today we spent the ent\u0131re day at sea travel\u0131ng to var\u0131ous bays \u0131n the area on a n\u0131ce boat. We found the sw\u0131mm\u0131ng enjoyable desp\u0131te the cold water and Yun was brave enough to jump off the second floor of the boat \u0131nto the sea (after much del\u0131berat\u0131on!). We are all burnt to the core though and w\u0131ll feel that pa\u0131n for the durat\u0131on of our tr\u0131p.<\/p>\n
Yesterday we v\u0131s\u0131ted a number of anc\u0131ent c\u0131t\u0131es south of Kusadas\u0131 – such as Pr\u0131enne, M\u0131letos, and D\u0131dyma. Fasc\u0131nat\u0131ng th\u0131ngs to see and a lot of arch\u0131tecture from ant\u0131qu\u0131ty. Tomorrow we w\u0131ll travel to the c\u0131ty of Efes (Ephesus) to explore that for half the day.<\/p>\n
Matt and I have had ample opportun\u0131ty to smoke c\u0131gars and dr\u0131nk Ephes\u0131an beer. The day before yesterday we had a spades match at a wonderful hookah bar where we puffed away on the hookah for hours. The Turks are very n\u0131ce and the owner of the hookah bar gave us a n\u0131ce handmade box as I had commented that I l\u0131ked \u0131t.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
