Spain has a super lame law which prevents the sale of wine after 11pm. Coming from a country where dinner begins after 9pm, this seems very odd.<\/p>\n
I learned this fun little fact tonight as we stopped at a small little grocer. Yun asked if they had wine. He asked what kind we wanted and then pulled back a curtain displaying a fine array of options. So strange. Given a similar stupid law in Mexico (I blame the Catholics), I asked if we were able to buy wine at this hour (just after midnight). I was told we could but he couldn’t sell me the wine. Very confusing. But nonetheless he put my bottle of choice in a bag and told me to keep it hidden. So apparently you can<\/em> buy wine after midnight, it just can’t be sold. <\/p>\n Wine is so incredibly cheap here and it’s really good!<\/p>\n Spain has a super lame law which prevents the sale of wine after 11pm.
