I have been looking for 50 lb pages of rice lately to see what the most cost effective type I could get.\u00a0 Food City has a few decent options. A bag of Blue Ribbon<\/em><\/a> runs about $10 for a 20 lb bag. They also have Mahatma<\/em> <\/a>rice for $13.59 for a 20 lb bag. I went to the Asian Market at Stone and Grant this afternoon at the recommendation of a friend last night and found they carried 50 lb bags of jasmine rice for about $30. I decided on buying\u00a0 a bag of Three Ladies Brand<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

When I returned home to fill the 6 gallon bucket, I realized that they don’t actually hold 50 lbs as I had anticipated. I was of the impression I’d get 50 lbs in each bucket because I had seen them listed that way at the site <\/a>I purchased the buckets. Emergency Essentials is the least expensive place I have found online to purchase bulk food. For rice, that amounts to a little over $60\/bucket with shipping.
