I was working on the yard the a few days ago and happened to notice a hawk (the default term for any large bird that is not a crow) on a neighbor’s jeep. I grabbed my camera to take a photo with the telephoto. When I zoomed in, I noticed what appears to be a bee flying next to it. I wonder if hawks eat bees?<\/p>\n

Its exciting to see bees still out and about. It has been mid-70s during the day which I suspect will be changing soon. Come Spring, Ben and I intend to become apiarists with our first hive. Our new house really doesn’t have a yard that would accommodate hives, so Ben has offered his property.<\/p>\n

I recently completed Dennison’s The Market Day of the Soul<\/em> which was especially helpful and an appropriate compliment to Gaffin’s Calvin and the Sabbath<\/em> which I had read last month. The latter is a survey of Calvin (and the Continental Reformers) view of the Sabbath, so Dennison’s work was an insightful compliment in expounding the Elizabethan Puritans view.
