this is my first attempt to blog by phone. I am sitting outside in the back yard smoking a Don Kiki – not that impressive for the price. I am quite pleased today, despite having to go to work earlier today on my day off, I am looking at the backyard and it is missing the rock pile! I gave in and paid a couple guys to come out and take care of it. It is so nice to have that done. I bought 11 gardenias today which I am going to plant on the east side of the yard. We are finally making some progress out here!

Super Tuesday!

Twenty-three States vote today and thus the day has been labeled Super Tuesday. I just got back from the polls and was surprised that so many people were voting in a primary election. I’m not sure we’ll have final numbers until tomorrow.

Ron Paul – Fifty One Years

I just made my donation!

From TeaParty07.com :

Can the media ignore Ron Paul in a two person republican debate?

Supporting the Ron Paul candidacy means more now than it ever has before. Huckabee and McCain have very little money left. If they don’t do well on Super Tuesday they will both drop out. Ron Paul will stay.

Just a little bit more effort and we’ll have the media pulpit for Ron Paul (and the freedom message) that we have been dreaming of since the very start of our efforts.

Give all you can on February 1st. We’re just about to knock this thing out of the park.

Please tell everyone you know about http://www.FiftyOneYears.com

Sincerely,

Trevor Lyman

Weekend in Tubac

We spent the weekend in Tubac as I did not have to work this Saturday. It was really nice to get out of town for a change of scenery. The resort we stayed at was really nice and we would probably visit again. There are a lot of nice places to stay in the area though.

We did some horseback riding which is a lot of fun despite our lack of experience. Our first time was in Panama last year. The horses were really easy to ride and our guide was very helpful as well.

There were a few dogs that joined us, including this one with exceptionally blue eyes.

Fortunately we took my vehicle instead of Yunuen’s as we would never have made it there with this steam we had to cross. We were hesitant that I would even get across.

We really enjoyed ourselves this weekend and I hope we can go back soon to do some more horseback riding.

Florida Primaries

For those of you that missed the January 24th Republican Primary Debates in Florida – here is a decent summary of Ron Paul’s contribution:

yunuen’s b-day

casavicente.jpg

Yunuen and I visited Casa Vicente on Tuesday for her birthday. Its located near downtown Tucson in area that is certainly not the nicest, but not a bad area either. The restaurant is pretty simple in regard to furnishings, but has some nice Spanish paintings throughout. I ordered the Langostinos al Mojo (prawns). It was really exceptional and I was pleased despite not being an enormous fan of prawns. They had a nice wine selection, but since it was all Spanish wine, I requested our server bring his recommendation which proved to be an excellent choice (La Estacada 2003). There was nice music and flamenco dancing for entertainment which was enjoyable. We recorded some video with Yun’s cell phone.

We are spending the weekend in Tubac at the Golf Resort there for this upcoming weekend. The weather should be nice, so we hope to be able to go horseback riding and hiking in the mountains.

I received my new humidor yesterday and shipment of cigars. It is absolutely beautiful and much nicer than I had expected. CI continues to tempt me daily with their exceptional deals – I received an email today regarding their Gurkha Symphony Robustos on sale for a third of their regular price. One of the employees on my team begged me for most of the day to go in on an order with him. I’m not exactly the strongest person when it comes to these issues. 😀

pre-birthday party

Yun’s family joined us this evening for some pre-birthday fun. They brought a piñata they had made of a yellow VW bug – it was quite well made by her family and the perfect thing to smash!

I went over to Liam’s house tonight for a few Warsteiners and to say goodbye as he departs for Afghanistan early Wednesday morning. Saddly, he will be taking his Xbox360 with him!

new humidor

I have been looking for a new humidor for a few weeks now. It’s been hard to find one that I really liked, but this morning I found one I thought would be perfect for my needs and at a great price. I found many reviews online that were unanimously positive. I also bought some propylene glycol solution for proper humidification. Distilled water doesn’t seem to work the best in itself, at least for the humidors I have presently. Tap water is absolutely horrible, particularly with the mineral deposits.I also ordered some cigars today! 🙂

A box of Te Amos, a sweet Mexican cigar made in Vera Cruz. Abe has bought one of these for me in the past and I enjoyed it a great deal. I bought some 5 Vegas Classic Robustos (one of my favorites), La Aroma de Cuban Monarch, Signature Collection by Perdomo (a torpedo), and Gurkha’s Master Select Robusto #4. These along with what I have at home should be sufficient to fill my new humidor!

ordination into the diaconate

Today was a special day as I was ordained as a deacon along with my good friend Ben. We have our first joint session meeting this Tuesday as members of the diaconate. I am looking forward to the added responsibility. It was a beautiful and warm day in Tucson. Our friends Jeff and Beth came over this evening for dinner and Yun made orange chicken which was really good. Beth and I conquered Yun and Jeff in spades.
