We are carnivores. We eat a lot of carne.

Here I am on the side of the road desperately trying to repair the steering. Sadly this was taking place next to a dead animal corpse. The smell was horrific and I was covered in flies the entire time.

Went to the dunes a week ago. It was brutally hot, but as always, so much fun. The jeep had a rough start. I had the ball joints and tie rods replaced in preparation a few days prior. The mechanic either didn’t use a crown nut or didn’t put the cotter pin in the crown nut, because one of the tie rods disconnected on the way to the dunes. Never a fun sensation to lose control of your steering while veering into oncoming traffic and then ending up in the ditch. By God’s grace, we didn’t die. I pulled off a nut from the steering damper to use to reconnect the tie rod, and then pulled a lug nut to reconnect the steering damper. It wasn’t long before I was back on the road.

I brought my next door neighbor David with me. It was a good time.

I made a spectacular dinner the other night. Marinade pork medallions for a few hours.. It was pure awesomeness.

We got our tickets to London for September 30th tonight! They were a bit behind schedule, but we are very happy to have them.

We plan on flying into London on Wednesday, September 30th and then meet up with Matt and Dana in northern Italy on the 3rd of October. We each agreed to work on an itinerary to share by next Friday. Below reflects our efforts:

Ever since she’s had the taste of lizard in her mouth, she loves the hunt. They tracked one down into the bushes again this afternoon.

I am currently driving home. Moments ago I watched another car nearly merge into this motorcycle and he came within inches of his life. As we came to the light, I turned to him and nodded in honor of yet one more day of life. He nodded back. It was a very cool moment.
