Muchacho Polaco

Last Sunday we had some friends over after church for lunch. We spent the afternoon playing games and getting to know them. Good times.

The plants are still going strong. I have transplanted all that I want to keep. I’m hoping to be able to move the squash into the backyard in the next few weeks or so. It’s been so warm that I’m optimistic that they will be able to produce well.

The photo above is roughly one-third of what I have.

Abraham has begun construction on his new home that’s sits right off the ocean. He has a lot more to do, but it is already looking pretty amazing.

This is something you should normally not see on the highway, but on our ride to Tucson on Monday evening we passed a truck on the edge of a cliff on its side.

Yun and I made a trip to Tucson this week. It’s been over three months since my last visit. Matt surprised me with a box of Cuban Cohiba Behikes! That’s one of the most expensive cigars one could obtain, and I got a box. And they are so good.

To follow that up, we moved on to some Montecristo #2s to go with some 20-year-old port. Also amazing. I need to visit Tucson more often!

The calabaza seeds are coming along quite nicely and should be ready for transplant in the next week or so. My chives have not yet sprouted as they should have. But given the delays with the other seeds, it’s possible that they sprout any day now.

This is a beef soup with a lot of broccoli Yun made me. It was rather quite good.

On phase 1 I am not supposed to eat any carbohydrates or sugars. That’s essentially the opposite of what I normally eat. But even so, I’ve been able to put some things together that have been pretty good. The picture above is of some chicken and vegetables I cooked in olive oil.

Yun and I took her parents and Abe and Martha to Billy’s ranch today for some food and for some volleyball. Despite being a bit chilly, we had a great time. The fire helped.
