Opening weekend…

This was a big weekend for us. We left for Hermosillo last Thursday (thanksgiving) and are now driving back to Tucson.

We began moving into our new house Thursday night after a long day of packing up things and traveling. We brought some of the extra furniture we had in our guest house in Tucson along with clothes and other small things. We are going to keep our furnishings in the main house until we sell it.

Yun’s parents lent us their truck. It’s not exactly fuel efficient, but very helpful for moving. Since Jacinto and Ericka were moving ghis weekend as well, we transported some of their things and had them drive it. This way we could ride the Mazda which moves along at a steady 100+ mph nearly the entire way.

It was fun to have our first night in a new house. It is nearly double the size of our current home, so furnishing it will be no small task.

On Friday we opened the farmacia for its grand opening. This was probably a bad choice of days as we had a number of workers over working on the house (electrcians, carpenters, and gas guy). Also, we had to wait for the gas to be delivered as the house has a tank for this as opposed to a city line (which is the norm apparently). This was important so that we would have hot water among other things. 1200 pesos later and we were good to go. Supposedly this will last 9

The farmacia did really well this weekend, much better than expected. There was a lot to do and it doesn’t seem to end.

Abe’s bday was on Sunday, so we went to Guaymas on Saturday. That turned into an all night party and lots of carne asada.

The weather was great. Scout and Tila had fun in the water. It was nice to have a break for a day.

We return in four days. It would be great to stay, but that will have to wait a little longer.
