We have a new addition to the house by the name of Scout! We found Scout through an adoption center here in Tucson and made arrangements to adopt him a few days ago. Apparently Scout’s previous owners had to move out of town and were unable or unwilling to take him with them.
Scout has proven to be a great dog so far. He is quite smart and very loving. Fortunately, he is also house broken so we haven’t had any accidents yet. He’s been a bit shy since we got him but continues to become more comfortable each day.
We went to the park today and he seemed to enjoy that quite a lot. I had intended to take him to the dog park section and take him off his leash, but we do not have him licensed yet, so I thought it best not to bring him around other dogs at the park until then. I eventually did take him off his leash to which he immediately bolted! Fortunately, he returned promptly (as the picture below documents).
We are really excited about having a dog now. We have wanted one for quite some time and we think Scout is a good match for us.
The vegetables are still doing great and fortunately the dog hasn’t made a game of killing them! Here is a photo of the tomatoes which I anxiously anticipate eating soon:
He is looking sad… he needs a girlfriend.
🙂
He’s no cat but looks to be at least a good protector. Also, he could do with a better name.
And by the way, those flowers on Lis’s blog recently happen to be the same kind of flower I left in your care in the gray pot. Bring them back to life and you can have such beautiful flowers in your yard!
He needs a new name- how about Diego?
