the bike is ready!

Yesterday was an exciting day as I insured my bike (less than $20/month), registered it, and got my permit! Eventually I will have to get my endorsement, but for the time being, I am ok with the restrictions that accompany the permit. I took it for a long ride yesterday and today. It is a lot of fun touring around parts of town I don’t normally visit and seeing things I don’t often see.

Friday night I went to a party and Ben and Lis’ house which was a lot of fun. I learned a game called Mafia which I anticipate I will have the opportunity to play many times in the future. It was a lot of fun.

Saturday evening we celebrated Jesus’ 31st birthday with some fajitas and Pacificos. We played a few hours of Texas Hold ‘Em where I successfully managed to win my money back!

I started Edmund Opitz’s The Libertarian Theology of Freedom which I was inspired to get after reading his introduction in Albert J. Nock’s Our Enemy the State recently. I am pretty impressed thus far and I’ve made my way through about a third of it.

“The sincere intention of the collectivist or the planner is to help people. But he chooses to help people through political action, which when spelled out means helping some people by hurting others.”

…And I anticipate that you shall not pretend you are not from the mafia.

Did you get your helmet yet?? You better not get rid of your bike before I get back. It is much more fun to ride with people.
