This is my nightly addiction. So good.

We had a great date night last thursday. We went to La Mansion Argentina. It was shockingly good. Perhaps the best place in town. I had the arachera with potatoes. They also had table side caesar salads. So very good.

The exchange rate has progressively gotten worse. Was holding out around 16 for a while but recently it has taken the plunge to 17. I don’t think I’ve ever seen it this bad.

We have been trying to do date night each week. Yun found a spectacular place tonight. Beer sold by the liter.

We had a great meal and good times. After dinner we went for a walk downtown. We stumbled across an opera and enjoyed a free show.

I had the chance to video chat with Dennis a couple days ago while he is at sea. He is just off the coast of Victoria and is preparing to continue heading south. He thinks he’ll be in Ensenada in October. Yun and I hope to join him there to sail with him south to Cabo. If time (and interest) permits, then I may continue up the Sea of Cortez into La Paz (though he’ll have to drop me off in San Carlos). I would love to do this trip, especially if I could bring my scuba gear and do some diving along the way!

We are carnivores. We eat a lot of carne.

Here I am on the side of the road desperately trying to repair the steering. Sadly this was taking place next to a dead animal corpse. The smell was horrific and I was covered in flies the entire time.

Went to the dunes a week ago. It was brutally hot, but as always, so much fun. The jeep had a rough start. I had the ball joints and tie rods replaced in preparation a few days prior. The mechanic either didn’t use a crown nut or didn’t put the cotter pin in the crown nut, because one of the tie rods disconnected on the way to the dunes. Never a fun sensation to lose control of your steering while veering into oncoming traffic and then ending up in the ditch. By God’s grace, we didn’t die. I pulled off a nut from the steering damper to use to reconnect the tie rod, and then pulled a lug nut to reconnect the steering damper. It wasn’t long before I was back on the road.

I brought my next door neighbor David with me. It was a good time.
