As we live much farther North now, we are unable to take the dogs on their traditional blood runs that they were used to when we lived in the South. Fortunately, next to where we live is an empty lot with ample dry, desert wash behind it. This provides sufficient space to throw the dog’s retrieval toy and for the dogs to get a pretty intense workout.
Of course there is plenty of cactus and sharp rocks which accounts for a good number of cuts and blood. I think we’ll call this event their blood throws.
